In February of 1946 her family moved to Camp Hood. Genevieve graduated from Killeen High School in 1950.
On February 10, 1950 she married the love of her life Frederick Miller, Jr., who proceeded her in death after 65 years of marriage. Together they were blessed with four children David Miller (Jan) of Bryan, Pam Blansit (Dennis) of Georgetown, Richard Miller (Dennie) of Temple and Robin Mather (Bob) of Killeen.
Six grandchildren: Erin Miller, Adam Miller, Christina Stahl, Rebecca Mullen, Jennifer Magallan and Casey Earley. Eleven great-grandchildren: Caitlyn Krauter, Owen Miller, Colin Miller, Claire Miller, Kylie Senclair, Kaleb Senclair, Korey Senclair, Zoe Magallan, Ava Magallan, Kayla Riddle and Adara Earley.
Our mother’s faith in God was strong and she never hesitated to share the love of God with anyone. Mom was raised in the First Baptist Church of Killeen. But was a faithful dedicated member of Lifeway Fellowship Church from the beginning. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years and was an influence to so many children. Mom was active in her church and always willing to do whatever needed done.
Genevieve was employed at American State/First Texas Bank of Killeen for 26 years in customer service and loved her job and customers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves five sisters, Margaret Duncan, Wanda Franklin, Edna Ruth Skinner, Dixie Griffin and Lois Ferrell and numerous nieces nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 5-7 pm. Service to be held at Lifeway Fellowship in Killeen on Monday, September 9, 2024 @ 11:00 am with burial to follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00pm.
