I still very much miss my brother!  I know he is singing praises with our Lord.  God blesses me every time He causes me to remember  Clarence’s smile and that twinkle in his eye that came from the Lord!  He blessed my life tremendously and I forever thank God for the privilege to call him my friend and my brother.

It has sadden me I just found out the passing of dear Rev. Sanders.  I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family.

My name is Theodora (Cornelius) Adkins. I live in California. I am Clarence’s cousin. His mother Ella Lean was my father Ted Cornelius’ niece. Clarence used to visit us and so did Ella Lean. Me and my siblings talked to Clarence often over the phone. When we tried to call him and couldn’t get an answer we got concerned but we didn’t have contact information for anyone. I searched the Internet and found this obituary online.

We were saddened to learn of his passing. Please accept our sincere  condolences.

Mr. Sanders is what you told Ollie to tell me when I address you. Not Ollie’s and Reggie’s Dad. I will always remember you. The night of your Awake I drove pass the Funeral Home to go pick up my daughter from work. Not knowing it was you that had Pass. Said a prayer for the Family that lost their Loved One! I wish I would of known. I can’t believe you are in Heaven watching down on your family! Too soon. I will always remember you. Until we meet again MR. SANDERS!!

Clarence was an honest, loving, and kind man that loved the Lord and walked according to His precepts. I know he will be missed dearly by his friends, family and especially the lights of his life his grandchildren. May his love continue to strengthen and encourage you. I know this is a difficult time but he lived to the fullest and enjoyed every minute he had on this earth loving y’all though the guidance and anointing of God. ❤️❤️❤️

Our prayers are with the family of a good man! He was a friend and a brother who lived liked he loved his Lord!  “Doc” talked and prayed me through a lot of life’s difficulties and challenges.  I am honored to have known him and to have been blessed called him my friend! 

Hey Pops! Well, I selfishly feel this is way too soon, but hey... What do I know? The only thing I do know is the Lord's favorite angels are the first to leave us here on Earth, with a stamp of a job well done.

Your bear hugs.
Your delicious red beans.
And your amazing stories. 

I don't know if you know how much I love/loved you, but you were such a special person in my heart. The house doesn't feel the same without your evening phone calls or your "how's Mo doing?"'s. I do know you are smiling down from heaven wishing you could call us to tell us all about it. You were such an amazing human and definitely not perfect, but you were prayer full of "Jesus Jesus Jesus". I know you will laugh at that one. You are the only person I know that can sing 15 renditions of those three Jesus combinations and convince me that they are all different songs. You always told me about what you were eating or reading, and I was always convinced you were sleep talking to me half of the time, but even then you were always listening! I thank you for your love, kindness and compassion for myself and so many others. You always worked hard and studied harder. And all I would tell you is make sure you take time to rest. And now that you are resting, I know you are in such great peace with our Father. You are so deserving of eternal life and can't wait to meet again and introduce us to all your friends. Thank you for being such a great Father-in-law, Your daughter loves and misses you dearly! -Mo

…He was very proud to have the name of Sanders. My father worked hard to keep food on our table and a roof over our heads, was at home each night, and worked even harder for God. Growing up I didn’t know a meal wasn’t suppose to have meat. We ate very well and loved comfortably as possible with no complaints. He instilled within us values of self-reliance, discipline, faith, and honesty. I was taught how to be man, how to work with my hands and my mind, study God’s word, and be a father to my own children. 

His days were filled with spending time with his grandchildren and his nights taking care of his congregation and studying the word of God. We always found him talking with people about life, giving advice to those who needed it, checking up on family members, including church family, here and all over. He’d always talk to me about who my cousins were and where my people are from and are today. He talked about his family far and near and made sure I at least knew where I came from. He talked about his own grandparents and how great they were to him and I believe that’s why he was a great Grandfather to me and my brother’s children. Man did he love his grand babies. The look in his eyes as he watched them grow and the hope he had for their future was immeasurable. 

I know my father, Clarence, is in heaven smiling and bragging on his grandchildren and proud they carry his name. He will be missed because he was greatly loved but the confidence of his teachings have taught me and my family that we will see each other again, because of the name of Jesus Christ!!!

I didn’t know what to say but I know how I feel. I will never forget anything you taught me and showed me. I am and will be grateful for the man you raised me to be. I can not say how much you meant to me and can not apologize for the things I’ve done. But do know pops, you’re the greatest man I have ever known. 

You taught me how to fight and how to be tough, not only physically but also mentally and even more so spiritually. 

You showed me how to stand ten toes down and look another in the eyes. You showed me what it meant to be a man, and how to take care of my family. 

You warned me of pitfalls and gave me the best gift I have ever known, the knowledge of Jesus and God. You taught me that I will never be perfect and that you too were not perfect, but Gods love is perfect and it’s ok. That things can be forgiven and should be. That life has many sad times and mad times, but always be thankful and grateful for what good things you have. 

Not to look at the little you may have to give but look at the total of what you have. My father was a man who valued his name. He always would say your name is all you have at the end of the day along with your word. The way you kept that name pure and with honor was two things he’d always say to me..”mark of a man is self-discipline” and “have faith son and never give up”.

I have been honored to touch lives with Pastor Sanders in the town of Nolanville, Texas some years ago. I've had the God given privilege to do outreach besides him and others. His godly approach to life and people speaks for itself. Pastor Sanders never compromised his relationship with God with no one...no matter who came into his presence. His life journal is surely a "Letter Read and Known By Man." Thanks to his family for sharing this powerful "man of God" with us.

I have no words to express the appreciation I have for you raising me the way you did. My heart has been absolutely hurting since you left this Earth and I wish I can rewind the hands of time. You taught me how to be a man and I thank you for loving me unconditionally. I'm sorry I didn't do more. 

I can't wait to hug you again, and will keep the promise I made to you on September 11th.
