Callie Mae Hawkins, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 11th, 2016. She was born to the late Mr and Mrs. Chancey and Reatha Wilkins, on January 6th, 1934, in Memphis, TN. Callie was educated at Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, TN. Graduating class of 1952. She continued her education at the University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor of Science degree as a Registered Nurse. She dedicated her career of nursing for more than 40 years until retiring from Crownsville State Hospital in Maryland. After retiring, Callie obtained her state certification licenses to practice nursing in Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania,Texas, and Washington DC.
Callie was affectionately known as "Mom". In Callie's early childhood years, she dedicated her life to Christ and was a faithful member to First Baptist Church of Annapolis, Maryland and Destiny World Outreach Center, in Killeen Texas. Callie had a very special devoted love for all of her grandchildren, whom she cherished and enjoyed their presence. She also love traveling, meeting new people and caring for a strangers.
Callie is preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Arthur, and Luther Wilkins and her sister Liza Canada. She leaves behind to cherish her fond memories, three loving children, Staff Sergeant, Anthony Wilkins (Charlene), of Evans, Georgia, Michael Wilkins of Richmond Virginia, and Beatrice Dennis, (Marlin), of Killeen Texas. She leaves her precious nine grandchildren, Carlos Wilkins (Kyara), Eric Wilkins, Darnell Wilkins, Remonia Dennis, Tacarra Wilkins, Marlin Dennis, Jr. (Shantrice), Ariel Laster, Ty-Kara Laster, and Alexis Wilkins, and eleven great-grandchildren, Myleah Williamson, Aiden Hollivay, Rebecca Villegas, NaZyiah Jenkins, Malachai Dennis, MyJoi Wilkins, Nyaila Dennis, Ryan Wilkins, Cherish Wilkins, Chase Wilkins, and Eric Wilkins, Jr. Callie also leaves two brothers, Robert Wilkins (Ann), of Glen Burnie, Maryland and Willie Wilkins (Rosemary), of Annapolis, Maryland, and host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends.
