Angel Luis Cruz-Santos, 91 of Killeen passed away on July 12, 2023. He was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico. He had been a resident of Killeen for the past 50 years. Mr. Cruz-Santos is preceded in death by his father Jose Cruz, mother Baudilia Santos, son Angel Luis Cruz, Jr., and Adrian Cruz. Mr. Cruz-Santos has two sons, Antonino Cruz of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Ariel Cruz of Dallas, two daughters Angela Cruz of Big Spring, Texas, and Doris Weiss-Mueller of Germany. Mr. Cruz-Santos had 23 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
Angel Luis Cruz-Santos is a Veteran of 25 years with the Department of the Army. His Military Occupational Specialties included Combat Engineer, Military Police, Interpreter, Interrogator, Intel Analyst, and Operations Sergeant. Mr. Cruz-Santos achieved the following military awards: Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Marksman Qualification Badge with Rifle Pistol and Rocket Launcher Bars, Good Conduct Medal x 3, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device (1960), and Overseas Service Ribbons.
A visitation for Angel will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will occur Friday, July 21, 2023 at 9:00 AM followed by a Committal Service with Full Military Honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
