Pauline Novak

May 11,1932 - November 1, 2024

Sadly, we would like to announce the passing of our dear mother, Pauline Novak, peacefully on Friday, November 1st at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital. She was 92 years of age.

Pauline was the beloved wife of Joseph Novak who predeceased her on April 25th of this year. They shared 71 years of marriage at the time of his passing.

Born in Kenora, she was the loving daughter of the late Kathleen and Samuel Swirhun who immigrated to Canada from Ukraine.

Pauline was a graduate of the Thunder Bay Nursing College and spent her nursing career at St. Joseph’s Hospital and then the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.

She leaves to mourn her passing, daughters Joanie and Patti (Art), grandchildren Jeff (Tessa), Joey and John. Pauline was beyond ecstatic when she became great-Grandmother to twins Quinn Joseph and Navy Dawn earlier this year. She was so happy to be blessed with their arrival.

Pauline’s family was the essence and priority of her life and she loved having everyone around her, especially at the family camp on Dogtooth Lake where she hosted many friends as well over the years.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of 2nd East and the Palliative Care team at LWDH. In lieu of flowers, donation to the LWDH foundation would be appreciated.

Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held by the family at a future date.
