Patricia May Martin
With her family by her side Patricia May Martin a long time resident of the Gardiner Block Apartments, in Kenora, passed away quietly on May 1, 2012 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, at the age of 91 years.
She is survived by three children Jennifer (Rainy River), Gerald ( Rochester, AB.) and Paul ( Calgary, AB.) a sister Terry Brown (Kenora), and two brothers Paul Reynolds (Kenora) and Jack Reynolds (Grand Prairie AB.) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Pat was predeceased by her parents Marjory and Ed Reynolds of Sioux Narrows , her husband Joseph I. Martin of Sarnia and foster children Cyrena and Peter Cameron.
Pat was born in Timmins, ON in 1921 and spent a nomadic childhood and early life living in Flin Flon, Kingsbridge, Hamilton, Fruit Land, Rainy River and Redditt before settling in Redditt and finally in Kenora.
She was a foster parent for many years and kept busy well into her 80’s volunteering at the Agape Table, at Knox United Church, and with delivering meals on wheels. She had a large circle of friends, too many to list, but asked to be remembered to all especially: Anne, Ed and Armand Beaudry, Winnie Mason, Brenda and Dan Jorgenson and family, Lynn Stephens, Alice and Rene and Micheline her phone buddy, all of whom brought her happiness and comfort.
A Celebration of Pats life will be held at 2:00 pm May 8th, 2012 at the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Centre with Pastor Cathy Giroux officiating
Interment of the ashes will be in July 2012 at St. Josephs Church in Kingsbridge, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of charity of your choice.
