Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband Henry Korba.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Susan and husband Jack Babcock and Kathy and husband Ray Jarvinen, grandchildren Colin Jarvinen, Henry Korba-Babcock, and Jaclyn Korba-Babcock, sister Janine Mischuk, and her nieces and nephews.
Helen was born in Keewatin and worked in the Pulp & Paper Mill office and for Gus Landry’s Insurance prior to starting a family, and then became a full-time mother to her girls. Helen loved being out at the camp, fishing on the Winnipeg River, working in her garden, spending time with her family, and, of course, cooking for everyone.
She was a lifelong member of the St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, a charter member of the Kinette Club, a member of the Catholic Women’s League, and a Town Councillor for the Town of Keewatin (14 yrs). She will always be remembered for her generosity and determination.
A Memorial Service for Helen will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at St. Louis Church in Keewatin, with a lunch to follow.
