Emile will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Shawn (Shannon), Kristen (Doug), Shelayne, and Amanda and great-grandchildren Emerson, Brook, Greer, Reed and Emily.
Emile was predeceased by his mother Marie Raymond and his father Narcisse, five brothers: Onisime, Alfred, George, Rene and Laurent; four sisters: Therese, Tharsille, Aline and Imelda. He has one living sister Hilda who lives in Southern Ontario.
Emile, lovingly known as E.J., was born December 17, 1927 to Narcisse and Marie Raymond. He and his family lived on and ran a small farm in Fisher Branch, MB. The family eventually sold their farm and moved to Winnipeg and at fifteen Emile started working with his dad at a window and door facility in St. Boniface, MB. Eventually, Emile made his way to New Westminister, BC. working nearby at Fraser Mills. Two years later, Emile returned to Winnipeg and eventually met the love of his life, Lenora Gaudry. They were married in 1952 and soon after moved to Larder Lake, Ontario. That is where they started their family. Later, Emile, Lenora along with their two daughters Gloria and Deborah moved to the town of Grande Pointe. Over the next few years, they had two sons Marc and Gary.
They raised their family in Grande Pointe and in the late 70's moved to Kenora, where they purchased a small tourist camp on Longbow Lake. After 24 years of running the cam, they retired and moved to Kenora. At their new home, Emile and his sons built a wood-working shop and it was there that he spent many pleasant hours crafting gifts for family and friends.
E.J. was a kind and gentle man who had a great love of nature. He will truly be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
A Celebration of his life will take place at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 at Notre Dame du Portage Roman Catholic Church, 222 First Street North, Kenora, ON
