February 15, 1946 – December 10, 2017

With her family by her side Cecilia Kelly (nee Paypompee) a resident of Naotkamegwanning First Nation passed away on December 10, 2017 at 6:40 a.m. at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Hospital, at the age of 71 years.

She is survived by her children Frederick Kelly, Glenda Kelly, Aaron Kelly, and Duane Mandamin. Grandchildren – Andria Nash (Chris White), Larissa Nash, Cinnamon Kelly, Brianne Nash, Talon-Lee Kelly, Zachary Mckay, and Aaryn Kelly. Great Grandchildren – Kieran White, Shiloh White, Emmett White, Mira Nash, Arelle Johnson, and Cedar Meeseetawageesic.

She was predeceased by her parents Isaac Paypompee and Ida Oshie and her common law Alex (La La) Medicine.

Cecilia Kelly was born in Kenora, Ontario and lived in Mcintosh, Shoal Lake First Nation, and moved back to Naotkamegwanning First Nation. She was a residential school survivor at St. Marys in Kenora, Ontario. She loved her life living in her home community with her youngest son Duane.

She enjoyed watching her horror movies and her cooking shows. She enjoyed her traditional foods, listening to pow wow music and reading tabloid magazines. She was the biggest fan of her sons when playing the game of billiards and more importantly she enjoyed having visits from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wake service December 15, 2017 beginning at 1:00 pm. Funeral services for will be held at 10:00 am December 16, 2017 at Naotkamegwanning First Nation at the Health Services Centre, reception to follow. Flowers or anything are accepted.
