Carol was born to Bill and Vi Davis on September 18, 1946. Carol said that her Mom always wanted to dress her in frills and bows but she was having none of that! She was happiest tagging along with her dad and helping with whatever he was doing.
Carol attended Keewatin Public School and High School in Kenora. She continued her studies in Guelph and remained in South Western Ontario for 13 years returning to Keewatin in 1978. Her home beside the Winnipeg River became her happy place!
Carol began her secretarial career at St Alban's Cathedral. She eventually moved into the tourism sector with The City of Kenora. She was a big promotor of Kenora and the Lake of The Woods, traveling to many trade shows around Canada and the Northern States. She moved on to working for The Ontario Information Centre at the Ontario Manitoba Border until it's closure. She finished her working years at the Sportsman Centre as a summer counselor for Sioux Narrows/Nester Falls Tourism.
Carol loved being busy! When she committed herself to anything you knew that it would be done to perfection. Her planning skills and organization made every project that she took on a big success! If it had anything to do with Keewatin, she was onboard! She was a founding member of The Lake of the Woods Historical Society (Mather Walls House), bringing back the July 1st Celebrations, and a big advocate to save The Keewatin Library when closure was looming after the amalgamation with Kenora.
Carol was instrumental in arranging for The Canadian Army Veteran Motorcycle Units to have their 2007 National Rally in Kenora. She was made an Honorary Life Member of the local Hindenburg Line Unit and was given the name "Whips" because she always kept everything and everyone so well organized.
Carol was passionate about her genealogy! She was always updating her research of the various branches of her family and was so excited whenever she found a new relative!
Carol was a past member of The Keewatin Curling Club, The Kenora Golf and Country Club and The Keewatin Legion, transferring to The Kenora Legion upon Keewatin surrendering their Charter. She dedicated her time to The Poppy campaign every year.
Carol is survived by her Kenora cousins Wilma Miller, Gord Doran, Tom Powell, Bill Hillman, Pat Cederwall and Melanie Patterson. She had many other relatives across Canada, England, Scotland, Sweden and Australia. She will be missed by longtime friends, Cathy Kasprick, Delaine Todesco, Anne Marie Contini, Pat Sewchuck, Brian Newton and by her cherished special "kids", Jerilyn, Gracey and Charley and Matthew.
We want to thank Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, Renal Department along with Doctors Watson and Silverberg, The Lake of the Woods District Hospital Dialysis Department, Doctor D. Kyle, and The Third Floor nursing staff for the kindness and compassion given to Carol during her last days.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice.

Carol will be laid to rest in Lake of the Woods Cemetery, Kenora, Ontario.
