December 21st, 1991 – June 22nd, 2024
Brittany Noelle Morris passed away on June 22nd, 2024. She fought hard right until the end of her cancer journey. She was such a strong and brave warrior.
She was a proud band member of Northwest Angle #33. A fun-loving Sagittarius. She loved to be out and about; you could find her catching the bus or riding her e-bike out for a cruise.
She loved going for breakfast and lunch at the Hungry Pug, that was her favorite spot. She was a social butterfly and really enjoyed interacting with people.
Brittany had faced many challenges throughout her life, but this did not stop her from shining, being truly authentic to herself and kicking ass. Brittany’s independence was very important to her, and she lived her life to the fullest. She didn’t give a “you know what” about what anyone thought of her, and we admired her for that. Brittany’s personality always matched her nails, they were always colorful and larger than life. She was very special to everyone who knew her. Britt loved her pets, family and friends all very much.
Predeceased by grandparents Charlotte Colleen and Victor Lafreniere. Robert Ducharme, Alvina and Charles Morris. Uncles Eddie and Clarence Morris. Brother Trevor Pavey and recently, her kitty Tiger.
Brittany is survived by her loving parents, Lee and Arlene Morris. She also called Barb and Bob Malmo Mom and Dad, too. Fluffy family, Bam Bam, Nala and Brucie.
Siblings, Jenalee, Monica, and Garrett Morris. Michael Delahaye and Tyler Pavey.
Aunts and Uncles, Allan (Mary), Gordon (Shirley), Robert (Cathy), and Helen (Victor) Morris, Leanne (Calvin) Mineault, Sally and Joanne Goodland, Armond (Shelly), Eric, Arno (Kim), and Julie-Ann Ducharme. Pat Casasanta as well.
Great Aunts and Uncles, Arlene (Eric), Dwayne, Valerie, Irene, Armin, Marilyn and Harriett. Cousins, Sheila and Mikey Slusarczyk, Wayne and David Morris, Paul Paquette, Tamara Peters, Philip and Luke Mineault, Vanessa, Kevin and Stephanie Krieger, Jennifer Pavey, Crystal Scott, Adam, Arial, Piper, and Jake Ducharme, Connor and Aiden Rich.
Close companions, Andrew Gan, Scott Malmo, Mason Lewis, Diane and Mike Vivian, Antonio Caruso, Joanna Hendrickson, Marilyn Holmstrom and so many more. As well as nieces and nephews. Even though you guys weren’t super close, she hoped you were always doing well.
Britt was a member of the Special Olympics. She made lots of friends there. She loved to go to bowling on Mondays and Swimming (self taught!) on Saturdays. She enjoyed going on the Special Olympic trips to competitions and banquets. She was so proud of the awards she won for her fantastic swimming and bowling skills. She also made lots of friends from around the world on TikTok.
Brittany had many interests. Brittany found love and comfort in movies, video games and music at a very young age. She really enjoyed horror (especially older cheesy horror movies from the 80’s) and Disney movies the most. Brittany sang before she could talk. She was a beautiful and talented singer. At around the age of 3 or so, Britt would stand in front of the TV with her arms up in the air singing her heart out to “Eagle When She Flies” by Dolly Parton. She participated in talent shows and school concerts as well. She loved attending events like Comic Con and Ai-Kon in Winnipeg. She was so excited to meet some of her favorite celebrities there. She enjoyed collecting barbies, movie/tv figurines and other cool Knick knacks.
Britt really loved working. She worked at A&W, McDonalds and Keewatin Place. Keewatin Place was her favorite. She loved her co-workers and customers dearly. She was always excited to go to work and whenever you’d see Brittany she had a smile on her face and was happy to see you. Brittany also enjoyed working as a crossing guard at King George school, and she really loved all the kids.
Brittany’s family and friends would like to send out a warm thank you to Dr. Chan in Thunder Bay, Dr. Robinson and Dr. Walters in Winnipeg, Cancer care nurses in Thunder Bay, Chemo department nurses in Kenora, and her Nurse Practitioner Tracey Bennett. We would also like to expend a special thank you to Kim Cariou for her GoFundMe page for Britt. Scott and Andrew, you guys are amazing, thank you guys for all your help during these last few months. To her KACL workers, thank you for bringing Brittany out, she always was glowing and happy after her outings with you. Special thank you to Dr. Harland, Ramona, Joanie, Roberta and a special friend, Dave Sabeski. And to anyone else I forgot, thank you so much for being there for Britt and lending a hand. She appreciated and loved you all more than words can convey.
In honour of Brittany, donations can be made to the Kenora Cat Shelter, Tamarack House in Thunder Bay or other local GoFundMe pages.
Brittany, I can’t even put into words how much we all miss and love you. We were all so lucky to have known you. Your light will be remembered forever by everyone you touched. Until we meet again, sis. We say goodbye to our dear butterfly.
As per Brittany’s wishes, she did not want a funeral. A celebration of life will be held later this summer.
