Alex Jr. Bannatyne
January 9, 1964 – March 1, 2023
Alex Robert Allcorn, a resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Alex was born in Red Lake, Ontario January 9, 1964.
Alex was predeceased by sisters Bernice, Irene, Mary Alvina, Bernadette, his brothers David and Leslie.
He is survived by his adopted parents Robert Allcorn and Daryle Spence, step-mother Rebecca Wood and step-father Bob Spence, his nieces Monique Paul and nephew Hubert Paul of St. Mary FN in New Brunswick, niece Melissa Jones and nephew Michael Williams. He is also missed by his sisters Lillian Perrault (Pat), Diane Kilgour (Doug), Doris Bannatyne, Sherry Spence, Taeah Park, Keira Handorgan, his brothers Wayne Allcorn, Lawren Allcorn, Sean Spence and Jesse Morrison.
He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews Lorraine, Linda, Junior, Leanne, Tracey, Wendy, Destiny, Tyler, Jamie Lynn, Samantha, Ross Jr., Alvina, Rosie, Patsy, Oscar, Ayashe and Chloe Fitzsimmons as well as many numerous extended precious family members.
He grew up in Laclu and enjoyed swimming, hockey, sledding and riding his bike. He attended Keewatin Public School before moving to Jaffray Melick and going to Valleyview, and Beaver Brae High School. Alex graduated grade 12 with honors. Alex was an independent person who enjoyed adventure and travelling. One would never know when he might knock on the door, or call from some city thousands of miles away. He would tell of his experiences on the open roads, many which would worry those who listened. His care free personality was tempered with a sense of responsibility towards those who needed his help, Alex moved to Winnipeg from San Jose, California, he enjoyed laughing with family and friends.
Alex was a flooring installer by trade. He worked his way up to a management position in South Western Ontario. Eventually health problems led to his leaving the trade, he still did installations for requests by family and friends.
The family would like to thank the Winnipeg Police Service, Niisaachewan First Nation and Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation.
A wake will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Norman Community Club beginning at 5:00pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 9:00 am with cremation to follow.
