Retired Lt Col. William Dean Cairns, of Acworth, GA, passed away peacefully January 1, 2016 at the age of 87 in the presence of his family in Fulton County, Georgia. He was born September 9, 1928 in Independence, MO. Since his residency in Georgia, he has been a faithful member of Kennesaw United Methodist Church. He enjoyed 52 years of marriage to his deceased spouse, Joyce Carolyn Cairns and is survived by his four loving daughters: Carolyn Morris (Craig), Linda Karneol, Cindy Isgette (Kevin), Angie McDowell (Paul) and seven grandchildren: William, Stephen, Max, Matthew, Dylan, Nicholas, & Sarah. Visitation will be held at Winkenhofer Funeral Home (Kennesaw) on Jan 6, 2016 from 6-8pm and the celebration of life service will be held at Kennesaw United Methodist Church on Jan 7, 2016 at 2pm with Dr. Wallace Wheeles officiating interment at Pine Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kennesaw United Methodist Church discretionary fund.
