William "Bill" Johnny Gravley

Mr. Gravley was born and raised in Acworth, Georgia. He was one of five children and later met and married the love of his life, Joyce Ann Mulkey. Mr. and Mrs. Gravley had four children together, Eddie, Johnny, Melinda, and Kellie. They raised their children in Marietta where they made many loving memories.

Mr. Gravley loved baseball and softball; he coached little league for his kids, and then moved on to coaching men and women leagues. He himself played softball until the age of 67.

He enjoyed watching sports, playing bingo with his wife, Joyce, and also loved his family. He enjoyed being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to both his family and his extended family.

Mr. Gravely served in the U.S. Army at a young age and later worked in almost every position at McArthur Concrete over a span of 40+ years. He later retired at age 72 so that he could garden and hunt deer on his own land.

Mr. Gravley is preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Ann Gravley and brother, James Gravley. He is survived by his sons, Eddie Gravley and his wife Debra of Woodbury and Johnny Gravley and his wife Jennifer of Dallas; daughters, Melinda Jerry of Smyrna and Kellie and her husband Darrell Strickland of Dallas; brother, Donald Gravley and his wife Betty of Ballground; sisters, Opal and her husband Jim Emerson of Marietta and Inez Johnson of Acworth; grandchildren, Phillip Dobbins, Christopher Gravley, and Kelsey Gravley; great-grandchildren, Evelynn Dobbins, Nathaniel Dobbins, Tyler Gravley, Holden Gravley, and many granddaughters by heart; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Thursday May 7, 2015 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home's chapel with Rev. Todd Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Acworth. Phillip Dobbins, J.R. "Junior" Chapman, Donald Gravley, Blake Waldrop, Scott Johnson, Dustin Snelson, Derrick Snelson, and Christopher Gravley will serve as pallbearers.
