Sylvia was one special lady. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Jack Lewis, in 1957. For the next 55 years, they raised a family together, welcomed grandchildren, and truly delighted in each other’s company until Jack’s passing in 2012. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and caring matriarch to her family. She cherished her extended family and the vast number of friendships that she and Jack formed and nurtured throughout their lives.
Sylvia was a woman of grace, faith and kindness. Her deep faith in the Lord compelled her to invest in the lives of women emerging from difficult circumstances to begin their lives anew. She was there to mentor, counsel, and provide for the practical needs of women using the resources available to her in her own small clothing business. She was a friend to all, and took advantage of opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. She will be missed by so many.
Sylvia is survived by her sons, Gene (Cary) Lewis and Scott Lewis; daughters, Camilla (Ken) Summerville, and Laurie Lewis; grandchildren, Garrett Summerville, Elizabeth Lewis, Jessica (Andrés) Diaz, and Dylan (Chastain) Lewis; and many loving extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, October 30, 2020 between the hours of four o’clock and seven o’clock in the evening.
