Shirley Ann Lane

Shirley Ann Lane, age 84, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Shirley was born April 5, 1938 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Adiel and Lorene Owen. Shirley attended Sandy Plains Baptist Church for many years, and was very strong in her faith. She was very active in her church and in many different organizations. She was a member of the Red Hats, the Eastern Star in Cave-In-Rock, IL and many other clubs. Shirley was an excellent seamstress and would make costumes for the Christmas play for her church. She was also a great Bridge player and was sought out for her amazing playing skills. Above all else Shirley loved her family and always wanted to be with them. Shirley was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Lane; her son James Lane Jr.; her daughters Cynthia Crowell (Ed); Cheryl Braund (Rick); and Tina Lowe (Andy); her grandchildren Emily Crane (Phillip), Kayla Crowell (Benjamin), Thomas Crowell, Mallory Lane, Avery Lane and Teagan Lowe.

A visitation for Shirley will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, 2825 Sandy Plains Rd, Marietta, GA 30066. A service will occur Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:30 AM. The burial will occur Friday, August 19, 2022 at Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30064.
