Dr. Scott Alan Murphy, 59, of Dallas, GA passed away Friday, May 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11am at Sanctuary Church in Kennesaw with Pastor Craig Bowler officiating. He will lie in state beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations have been requested to be made in memory of Dr. Scott to Sanctuary Church, 700 Mars Hill Rd Kennesaw, GA 30152.
Dr. Murphy graduated from Life University, and was a practicing chiropractor in Georgia for over 25 years. Scott was a loving husband and doting father to his two girls. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the beach, playing his guitar, working out, his sauna, and trying out new electronic gadgets. Dr. Murphy and his family practiced their faith at Sanctuary Church in Kennesaw.
Survivors include his wife Karen Ann Murphy; daughters Tena Murphy & Gertrude Murphy; brother Vent (Martha) Murphy; sisters Dr. Tena (Jim) Wellons and Dr. Anne Murphy. There are also several nieces & nephews surviving. Dr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents Horace & Elizabeth Murphy, brother Hale Murphy, and his sister Susan Hoeppner.
The family will receive friends at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw on Wednesday, May 10, from 6-8 pm.
