It is with heavy hearts that we announce beloved wife and mother, Dr. Sandra Fisher Miller, of Kennesaw, GA, passed peacefully into God's kingdom on December 15, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on May 4, 1946, in Jacksonville, FL, she was the cherished daughter of Marion Ralph Fisher and Lois Pearl (née Smith) Fisher.
A woman of great warmth and strength, Sandy dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her family. As a mother, she was our guiding light, offering love, wisdom, and unwavering support to all who knew her. Her generosity, kindness, and infectious laughter brought joy and comfort to all, making her home a sanctuary for her children, grandchildren, and friends.
As the first in her family to attend college, Sandy held a deep belief in the transformative power of education. She dedicated her career to teaching, finding joy in inspiring young minds from middle school through undergraduate levels. Sandy employed innovative methods to cater to various learning styles, always ready to assist her students with academic challenges or personal matters. As a department chair and administrator, she was passionate about fostering a collaborative community of educators dedicated to enhancing student success.
Sandy’s fierce devotion to her family and her faith was evident in all she did. She loved cooking for loved ones, nurturing her children and grandchildren, and indulging her passions for gardening, crafting, reading, birdwatching, and playing the piano. Her spirit lives on through the countless cherished memories she created and the invaluable lessons she imparted about love, resilience, and kindness.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Pearl Fisher. She is survived by her beloved husband, Lewis; her children, Jackie, Coy, and Marion; her grandchildren, Laughton, Campbell, and Jackson; and many cherished friends who will forever remember her warmth and compassion.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on December 20, 2024, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home (2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152) at 2 PM. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held at the funeral home, beginning at 12 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Sandy requested that donations be made in her memory to the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries, a charity she supported throughout her life.
We find comfort knowing that her love and light will continue to guide us, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
