Robert E. Wilkinson, 82, of Montgomery, AL, formerly of Acworth, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Funeral is Tuesday, March 15 in Kennesaw, GA at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
Mr. Wilkinson was a longtime Pastor within United Methodist Church and a member of Whitfield Memorial United Methodist in Montgomery, AL. He also served as Chief Operations Officer for the March of Dimes and retired from them in 1996. Bob was still preaching until recently when his health no longer allowed a lot of activity. His beloved wife Patricia preceded him in death in 2013.
Survivors include his children – Robert Wilkinson, Jr., Cathy Cline, Nicci Durban, and his granddaughter Lexie.
The family will receive friends one prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whitfield United Methodist Church at 2673 Fisk Rd, Montgomery, AL 36111 or to your local Humane’s Society in memory of Robert E. Wilkinson.
