Matthew Leon Courtney

Matthew enjoyed photography and travelling. He was a wonderful cook and was famous for his sweet potato pies. Most of all, Matthew loved being with his family. Mr. Courtney was a very kind and gentle man who always encouraged and motivated those around him. He was also a proud soldier who served in the United States Marine Corp in the Korean War.

Matthew Courtney leaves to cherish in his memory, wife, Diann Courtney; children from his current marriage, Heidi Packer, Pansy Decuir, Corrie Poole, Rodney Poole, Medina Poole; children from his previous marriage, Tanya Lang, Arlisa Brinson, Josep Courtney, Troy Courtney, Leon Courtney, Terrance Courtney, Christopher Courtney, and a host of grandchildren.

The family of Mr. Courtney will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 9 AM to 10 AM at Northwest Christian Church, 3737 Dallas Acworth Hwy NW, Acworth GA 30101. A funeral service to honor his life will begin at 10AM, immediately following the visitation. Matthew will then go to his final resting place at the Georgia National Cemetery at 1:30 PM, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton GA 30144.
