Lindsey Alyssa D’Ercole, 28, passed away on December 8, 2021 after a lifelong battle with Crohn’s disease, and Mevalonate Kinase Deficiency. Lindsey fought a valiant battle for many years, but the last two months, her body just wasn’t strong enough after a brief illness to recover. Lindsey was born on October 18, 1993 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Lindsey was an avid animal advocate and they all held a special place in her heart. She was always rescuing a stray or five. She will be missed by her cats, Onyx, and Harmony and her dogs, Sadie and Teenie and honorable mention to Clutch.
Lindsey advocated for many other people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease whether it meant lending an ear to listen and guide them or just someone who needed a friend. She was the brightest star in the sky of many peoples’ lives. She may not be on this earth now, but she has left her mark and her spirit with many that she left behind. If you were her friend, she would do anything for you and if you weren’t her friend, she would reach out to you so you did become her friend. She had a smile that would light up a room and a personality to match. Lindsey was studying Accounting at Chattahoochee Technical College.
Lindsey is survived by her beloved parents, Anthony and Annette D’Ercole , and cherished sister, Ashley Meredith D’Ercole (fiancé, Christopher Rochford). Lindsey was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Anthony L. D’Ercole and Gertrude D’Ercole , her maternal grandparents, Anthony Sciuto and Carmella Galanzo and her aunt, Nancy Cameron. Lindsey is also survived by her aunt, Palma Young(Michael), her uncle, Stephen D’Ercole(Colleen),cousins, Jennifer Plagemann(Greg), Allison, Sophia, and Olivia Plagemann, Amanda Messara, Caitlin Wehling, Bryan D’Ercole, Leeann Cameron and uncle, Ted Cameron, Kayden and Stephen Young. Lindsey is also survived by her special boyfriend, Justin Jackson.
A visitation for Lindsey will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A visitation will occur Monday, December 13, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A burial will occur Monday, December 13, 2021 at Pine Ridge Memorial Park, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152.
The family has requested that you wear something purple in honor of Lindsey.
The family would like extend our deepest appreciation to all the medical doctors that have taken Lindsey under their wing and treated her as more than just another patient, especially Dr. Stanley Cohen, Dr. Steven Shore, Dr. Gary Myerson, Dr. Marion Schertzer, Dr. Elizabeth Taghechian, and Dr. Robert Harrison. She was such a social butterfly, she could be found running the hospital floors socializing with her nurses.
