Kevin Dyer attended Carmel and Harrison High Schools, Georgia Southern University and Kennesaw State University. While at GSU he was a member of SAE Fraternity. He was an excellent hockey player that could practically skate just as fast backwards as he did forwards. Baseball and football ranked high when it came to Kevin and his sports. He not only played these as a youth but also followed his favorite sports teams religiously. The Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs and The Ohio State Buckeyes could always count on Kevin to be their number one fan. To say Kevin loved the outdoors would be an absolute understatement. His ability for identifying all sorts of flora and fauna was simply amazing, much to the puzzlement of those of us who might not understand the Latin floral terms. Undoubtedly, with his skill set and knowledge of the outdoors, Kevin co-owned and operated his own landscaping business, Sandstone Property Management. His hobbies included fishing, camping and off-road biking thru the trails of Kennesaw Mountain. On days, when weather put his outdoor activities on hold he could be found watching and reciting movies. Movie quotes weren't the only thing he picked up on. Over the years, Kevin had become a devote Methodist readily able to quote scripture from Proverbs. Kevin was quite often known for being a grilling master and creating his own unique recipes in the kitchen that always had everyone wanting more. Kevin loved his family and friends dearly, not to mention the four legged furry ones or even the scaly ones. There was not a single God given element of nature that was intimidating to Kevin in the slightest. May he always be cherished and remembered as a friendly, charming, compassionate, loving and caring man. And may Kevin’s great passion for nature and the love for the outdoors continue to live on forever.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Kathryn Ellen Dix Dyer; father, Jay Martin Dyer; significant other, Meredith Eason of Cumming, GA; sisters, Meredith Weiss and husband Jason Weiss, and Ashley Dyer and her significant other Brian Roeller; niece, Hannah Roeller; nephews, Jacob Espey, Alec Roeller, Austin Roeller, and Kyle Weiss.
In lieu of flowers, it would be an honor to Kevin for donations to be made to The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper https://chatahoochee.org , The Georgia Botanical Society www.gabotsoc.org , or The Georgia Wildlife Federation www.gwf.org/Home.aspx .
