JoAnn Hester

JoAnn Hester, age 74, of Kennesaw, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marietta, 1:30pm Saturday, March 27. Burial will follow at Pineridge Memorial Park. She was born in Clarksville, Texas in 1935. Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Hester. Survivors include three children, Sheri Hester of Kennesaw, Don Hester and wife Brenda of Woodstock, GA and Ben Hester of Acworth, GA, sisters, Brenda Sue McGuiness of Woodstock, and Betty Henzig of Oklahoma City, OK, granddaughters, Courtney and Morgan Hester, Brooke and Hillery Harper, grandson, Brian Hester. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kennesaw and was very involved in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2681 in Marietta. She spent her early career as a registered nurse, and was a loving wife and mother to her three children. She was a career navy wife, and resided in various parts of the world, including Japan and Taiwan. The family will receive friends Friday, 7pm – 9pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Home in Kennesaw.
