Mr. James Preston (JP) Grogan age 84 of Dallas died December 16, 2010. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Sunday at Crossroad Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Harold Turner and Rev. Hershel Tibbits officiating. Interment at Crossroad Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Haralson County Mr. JP Grogan lived most of his life in the Dallas, Paulding County area. He enlisted in 1944 at 17 to serve in WWII in the Sixth Marine Division in the battle for Okinawa. He also served in Japan and received the Purple Heart from injuries incurred in the Battle of Sugar Loaf Hill. He had worked for Reeves Electrical and started Grogan Electric Company in 1956. He was the owner of Leisure Living Mobile Home Park. He was a lifelong member at Crossroad Baptist where he served as a song leader and Deacon. He was marred in 1946 and was preceded in death by his first wife Johnnie Mae Prewett Grogan. He enjoyed Golfing, hunting, Disney World, traveling and his Pipe. He married Dale Clark in 1988. He enjoyed golfing, hunting traveling, his Pipe and spending time with loved ones.

Sisters – Margie Turner of Dallas, GA; Carolyn Saunders of Dallas, GA; Doris Wright of Heflin, AL, Tommie Love of Flowery Branch, GA.
Grandson – Mr. & Mrs. Chad (Felicia) Plumley of Dallas, GA, Grandchildren Sarah, Emma & Samuel Edison of Roopville, GA, Dusty and Addy Gilland of Roopville, GA and Rebecca Bailey of Acworth.
