Clara Joyce Bartley

Mrs. Clara Joyce Bartley, age 73, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born on August 25, 1944 in Freehome, Georgia, a daughter to the late W.G. (Garland) Epperson and Naomi Mardell Epperson. Preceded in death by sister Barbara Champion.

After thirty years of dedicated service, Joyce retired from the State of Georgia. While working full time, she remained a dedicated wife to her husband, Jim, and a wonderful mother to her children; giving everything she had to ensure they all knew how much she loved and cared for them. In her spare time she enjoyed listening to gospel music, sitting on the porch watching the birds, and spending time with her grandchildren - who called her ‘Nanny’. Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joyce is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, James Bartley; three children: Vicky Wells, Robin Fields Cawley, husband Ed Cawley and Ronald ‘Kelly’ Morgan, wife Kelly Ann Morgan; four grandchildren: Brittany McGowan, husband Dax McGowan, Kevin Fields, Corey Ash, wife Kaitlin Ash, and Cody Morgan, wife Taylor Morgan. Three great grandchildren: Jaxson McGowan, Knox McGowan, and Drew Fields. She is also survived by her nieces: Mitzi Saxon, husband Lance Saxon, Dana Maloney, husband Todd Maloney, Debbie Parks, husband Wayne Parks. And her best friend of 44 years, Sharon Dellinger.

She is also loved and survived by her three step-children: Susan Horner, Sharon Hibbs, and Sandy Young; nine step-grandchildren, nine great step-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

A visitation with the family will take place from five o’clock in the afternoon until eight on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Joyce Bartley will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. John Massingill. Interment will follow in the Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
