A native of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Wood was born on December 10, 1979. He was a 1998 graduate of Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Ga. and a 2011 graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in IT Development. Prior to his death, Chris was employed with Home Depot as an IT Developer. He was preceded in death by grandfathers; Gordon Race and Jewel Wood. He was known for his love of stray animals especially cats.
Survivors include his parents, Anita and Ronald Race. One sister, Ronda Race. Barry Wood. His loving and devoted companion, Allison Nabers. Grandparents, Al & Jackie Manning, Muriel Race, Jo Wood, and aunts & uncles; Rob and Lisa Manning, Cindy Crittenden, and David Wood.
Memorial services for Chris will be private for family. A celebration reception will be held on Sunday February 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the Turner Field in Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers, the family lovingly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Atlanta Humane Society at 981 Howell Mill Road NW Atlanta, GA 30318, in memory of Chris.
