I just wanted to take a moment to send my condolence. I knew Steve to be not only a good friend but also a great person. He opened his house for those who had no place to stay and requested nothing in return. Steve and I spent a lot of time together in the late nineties and had a lot of wonderful times together. He will be missed.

We met Steven when he first came to our Sunday school class.  He became a friend there as well as fellow member of the Son’s of the American Revolution.  He was our Sunday school teacher for over a year.  We loved him and take comfort in knowing he is with Jesus

Steve was a wonderful man, caring, funny, loved to dance .
I met him at church he came to our Sunday School class and we all loved him. He would bring donuts every Sunday and on special days would bring roses for the ladies. Gave us so much laughter. 
Steve became our teacher and was so faithful to study and share with us every Sunday. We will miss him forever til we see him in heaven.

We miss you so much, Uncle Steve. Words cannot express how much we appreciate everything you've done for us. You were such a bright light in our lives and very important part of Levi's life.  He truly adored his Great Uncle!  We will always remember how you never hesitated to be there for Levi, and you even attended his baptism.  Sending thoughtful prayers and healing hugs to all the family and friends grieving right now. Even though we are grieving in your passing, we can find peace and comfort knowing that you are in heaven and looking down on us. We love you, Uncle Steve!

I had the pleasure of getting to know Stephen through our love of genealogy and membership with the Craig Austin Rowley Chapter of the General Society of the War of 1812.  He was extremely active with the group and was always willing to assist with activities.  Stephen had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. He will be greatly missed. 

My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. 

Steve was my uncle. He was a good man that loved the Lord, his family, and his country, deeply. I saw him often over the last three years as we lived very close to each other. We shared the same interest in history and genealogy.  In fact, he had plans to move out east, around the Kemp area to further investigate and record the lives of passed family members. I will miss his passion and him greatly. I find comfort he’s in the Lord’s loving embrace.

We first meet Steve about five years ago, when he joined our Sunday School Class at Sunnyvale Fist Baptist Church. Steve became our Sunday School Teacher. Steve had a heart as big as all outdoors. His compassion and generosity for others will be long remembered.  Steve was a highly decorated Vet Nam War Veteran. A recipient of the prestigious Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Steve’s  selfless actions in the heat of battle epitomizes the famous words of Admiral  Chester W. Nimitz: “Uncommon Valor was a Common Virtue”. Steve was a member of the Texas Society Sons of the American Revolution and the The War of 1812.  He loved his country and was proud of his heritage. He faithfully served in the Color Guard for both organizations.
We are grateful that God afforded us the opportunity to know Steve.  We love you, We miss you, We will see you in the next life.
