Ron was born in Scott, Saskatchewan on July 9, 1936. He is the sixth child of Frank and Barbara Weninger. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elfrieda, his four children, Quinn (Elizabeth), Marlin (Pauline), Brant (Gwen), Corinne, his nine grandchildren, Shauna, Robyn, Jaylon, Cassia, Emerald, Samuel, Lucy, Rolen and Riegar, and his three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christopher, and Thomas.
Ron spent most of his life in construction. He built anything and everything from jewelry boxes to campers, motor homes, toys for the kids, houses, commercial buildings, and shopping malls.
He was an avid sportsman and stayed active fishing and hunting, and playing softball, golfing and playing hockey - as a member of the Kelowna old-timers leagues - until the age of 83.
Ron's passion was his family. He thoroughly enjoyed camping, family dinners, traveling, and attending all and every special event, game or theater production in which his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren participated.
Ron will be greatly missed. The legacy of his generosity will live on through his immediate family and his extended family - who knew him warmly as, Uncle Ronny.
A celebration of life will be held at the First Memorial Funeral Services at 1211 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna BC, on Friday June 23, 2023 at 2:00pm
