Richard “Ross” Johnson, born December 2, 1949, died peacefully on January 13, 2022 with his loved ones by his side. Predeceased by his parents, Betty and Dick Johnson and his brothers, Gerry and Vern Johnson. Ross is survived by his wife, Diana, three wonderful sons: Chris Johnson, Michael Johnson and Mike Fisher, three grandsons and four granddaughters. He spent over 50 years working in the life insurance industry and after retirement, loved spending time with his buddies in the coffee shop.
If you met Ross, you would never forget his off the wall sense of humor and his intellect. He thrived on learning and loved reading, doing crosswords and having deep conversations. He would probably tell you how much he loved Diana and how proud he was of his sons. Music was a huge part of Ross’ whole life – listening to it, writing it and playing it on his guitar. Later in life, he was blessed to become “papa” to Ebany and Braady. In his final hours, he wanted nothing more than to see “his girls”, greet them with a huge smile and one final hug.
There is no service, at Ross’ request.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. His family asks that you think of Ross, on the 18th hole of Quail Ridge golf course, where he would hunt golf balls with little Braady, or whenever you hear a Jimmy Buffet song.

Where it all ends, I can’t fathom my friends,
If I knew, I might toss out my anchor,
So I’ll cruise along always, searching for songs,
Not a lawyer, a thief or a banker.
Son of a Son of a Sailor, Jimmy Buffet
Now he’s off for a cheeseburger in paradise.
