Mary Elenor Howell

HOWELL, Mary (Mackintosh) - passed away at the Central Okanagan Hospice House on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the age of 90. She was born on the farm in Ethelton, Saskatchewan on February 20th, 1923, the daughter of Duncan and Ava Mackintosh. A resident of Kelowna since 1946, she could often be found working in the garden or around the house, always happy to entertain company that stopped by. Mary was predeceased by her husband Edgar (1994) and will be sadly missed by many including her sister Marj (Earl) Ede, her sons Bill (Donna) of Fort St. James; Bob (Anne) of Kelowna and her daughter Iona (Lance) of Kelowna as well as many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her dear friends. Despite her time in B.C., Mary was a true Saskatchewan woman at heart; hard working, brutally honest, fiercely loyal and entirely loving. Our family’s rock and touchstone. She will be sorely missed. There will be no service by her request. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
