WHITBREAD: Margaret Ann (née Little) passed away peacefully April 21, 2022 at the age of 88. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Jean Little, and her son, Rob Whitbread. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Morris Smith) Larson, Dawn (Murray) Carpenter, and Lynn Morris, and son John (Claudia Martinez) Whitbread, grandchildren Anna (Andrew Warner) Larson, Eric (Julie Hegelund) Larson, Marcus Smith, Rebecca Carpenter, Abigail Carpenter, Cooper Whitbread, Haydin Whitbread, Elliott Whitbread, Aubrey Morris, and Chloe Morris. Margaret was born in St. Catherine’s Ontario. She attended the Royal Conservatory of Music where she excelled at piano. She also attended the University of Toronto. After graduation, she moved to Kelowna, British Columbia to work in healthcare, where she married John Horn and had three children. After divorcing, she met and married David Whitbread and adopted his two daughters. The family moved to the United States, settling in San Bernardino, CA. After the marriage ended, Margaret worked in Los Angeles, where she enjoyed living closer to the family there, then returned to Kelowna to care for her father after her mother passed away. Margaret’s personal faith in Jesus as her savior and friend was an infinite source of strength to her. Mom’s constant prayers for us have upheld us throughout our lives’ journeys. Mom took great delight in seeing her grandchildren growing up to be unique and caring adults. She remained in her beloved Kelowna until her passing.
A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held on Monday, July 31st, 2023 from 3:00 PM till 5:00 PM at the Okanagan Mission Community Hall in Kelowna. A Private Family Inurnment will take place at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
