James Sanford Rodgers

Jim slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus in the early morning of July 19th after a short battle with cancer.

Beloved husband and best friend to Jeannie, Bonus dad to Richard (Vicky) and Shelly (Stephen), Papa to grandchildren Ashley (Patrick), Andie, Adam & Ophelia and Papa “That” or Papa Jim to Great Grandchildren Hannah & Maya. Brother to Jan (Milton) and Uncle to Rachel (Derek) and Logan (Joce) and great uncle to Parker and Kevin.

Jims love of family and friends, people in general, playing bass guitar in worship (many of you who knew him will remember him with bare feet, bass around his neck and his hands raised in worship to the God he loved), riding his motorcycle aptly named Freedom, good food and good wine and everything nature, was surpassed only by his love for Jesus and the word of God.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him no matter how long he was a part of their life. Always with words of encouragement and hope, his presence will forever be felt.

A special thanks to friends Neil (Scruff) and Ken for loving him so well and to our community at Praxis Church for the genuine love, care and compassion you offered as you journeyed with us through this time.

There will be no service at this time as per Jim’s request.
