June Jeanette Ervin, age 83, of Newark, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. June Ervin was born June Jeanette Kinnersley on December 31, 1940, in Villisca, Iowa. During adolescence, her family would move to Moses Lake, Washington. While living in Moses Lake, she worked at a bank and would spend her free time cruising the town with her best friends, Joe and Evelyn Donovan. It would be the Donovan’s who would introduce her to the love of her life, Bill Howard Ervin. Bill Ervin and June Kinnersley tied the knot on January 14th,1961 and remained close friends with the Donovan’s throughout their entire lives.
June spent the next 59 years together growing their family and community through service and God‘s love.
June was an exemplary member of First Baptist Church of Newark for many years. As a devoted deacons wife, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. In the most recent years, she spent her time holding various roles within the church and keeping in touch with church family and friends.
June is survived by her four children; Bill and Regina Ervin of Krum, Texas, Carolyn and Cody Mitchell of Azle, Texas, Jennifer Ervin of Fort Worth, Texas, and Danielle and Scott White of Diamond City, Arkansas. Three grandchildren; Kristen Ervin of West Point, Illinois, Kailey Ervin of Watauga, Texas and Collin Stout of Haltom City, Texas. Four great grandchildren; Eli, Marie, Grayson, and Willow.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Ruth Kinnersley of Fawn Lake, Washington, two sisters; Bette and Bill Minyard of Granbury, Texas and Shirley and Tom Stonehocker of Molalla, Oregon; her husband, Bill Ervin of Newark,Texas.
A graveside service for June will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd 76034.
