Barry graduated from the University of Southwest Louisiana in 1977 with a B.S. in Geology. He began his career with Conoco Inc. in Lake Charles, LA and was soon transferred to Houston, TX where he met and married his wife. He was a proud member of the Republican Party, a member of the Statue of Liberty Restoration Foundation, the AAPG, the Houston & US Geological Societies, as well as the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists.
His favorite days were spent cooking gumbo or grilling Barry burgers for his family.
