She was born in Concord, NH on July 4, 1945, the daughter of Samuel C. and Virginia L. (Flanders) Snowling.
Sandy attended Keene High School and graduated with the class of 1963. In 1964 she was initiated in the Alpha Delta Pi sorority while attending the University of Vermont. She graduated with a B.S. in Nursing in 1967. After graduation she continued her involvement in Alpha Delta Pi as a chair member and went to many reunions with her sisters.
In 1967 Sandy married Michael Wiggin in a ceremony in Fitzwilliam, NH. The two enjoyed many good years and were comforted knowing that they had the support of each other through out the more difficult times as well.
A career in pediatrics placed Sandy in many different settings throughout the years. She also played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Chesterfield branch of Home Health Care.
Sandy was a dedicated volunteer for the Special Olympics in Keene, an organization of which she was very fond. She was heavily involved with many volunteer groups throughout the Keene and Peterborough areas, especially with the Monadnock Community Hospital promoting positive community involvement. She had been a member of the United Church of Christ for many years. She had many creative talents including scrapbooking, making cards, and cooking. She was a wonderful mother with a strong and caring spirit.
Sandy leaves behind her husband: Michael Wiggin of Spofford and Keene; sons: Shawn Wiggin of Keene, and Christopher Wiggin and his wife Melanie of Torbay, New Zealand; grandson: Grant Wiggin; brother: Douglas Snowling and his wife Jan of Keene; sister-in-law: Sharon Toscaro and her husband Mike of Keene; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Spofford Village Cemetery, Spofford, NH.
