She was born on December 28, 1946 in Keene, NH, daughter of the late Andrew and Pauline (Buffum) Goodell. She was raised in Troy, NH, where she attended area school and graduated from Mondanock Regional High School with the class of 1964.
On July 9, 1966, Sandy married her high school sweetheart, Harry J. Lafreniere, Jr.
Sandy had worked in the grocery industry at OK Fairbanks, which later became Super Place. She held a long time career at Cheshire Oil wearing many hats, from which she retired. Following retirement, she and Harry spent winters in Fort Myers, FL and visiting the Keys and Sanibel Island.
The matriarch of the family, Sandy was always welcoming others in and hosting holiday gatherings. She loved knitting, sewing, and ceramics and lovingly created all kinds of items for her family and friends. She was a Cub Scout leader and was an active member at the Keene Moose Lodge. She enjoyed traveling and cruising with Harry to places such as Puerto Rico and Hawaii, and also found pleasure in spending time at Shirroy Campground in Richmond for over 20 years.
Sandy will be dearly missed by her husband of over 58 years: Harry Lafreniere, Jr. of West Swanzey, NH; daughter: Laura Cutter and her husband Robert of Winchester, NH; son: Scott Lafreniere and his wife Peggy of Swanzey Center, NH; grandchildren: Stacey Cutter of Keene, NH, Alicia Cutter of Hinsdale, NH, and Benjamin Lafreniere of Swanzey Center, NH; great-grandchildren: Kaleigh and Ethan; sister: Sheila Depew and her husband Arthur of Troy, NH; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours on Wednesday, November 20th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH.
