His parents, Richard and Ann (Taaffe) Ladam welcomed their son into the world on September 11, 1952, in Keene. He grew up in Keene and was a 1970 graduate of Keene High School.
Michael received a bachelor’s degree in governmental studies from Dartmouth College in 1974.
He worked for many years as a computer software engineer with Ungermann Bass, Fore Systems and later with the State of NH Public Utilities Commissions.
Skilled with his hands and mind, Michael also enjoyed woodworking, playing bridge and cooking.
He was very active in politics, dating back to a 1970 campaign as a candidate for NH State Legislature, during which, he first met his wife Martha who was a fellow candidate. He also volunteered at the election polls aa a supervisor of the checklist and served as selectman with the City of Keene.
He was particularly fond of spending summer vacations with his family at Sand Pond in Marlow, NH.
He will be greatly missed by many, especially his wife of 52 years, Martha E. (Gerenbeck) Ladam of Keene; his children, Stephanie Leach and her husband, Cameron, of Windham, NH, Dr. Christina Ladam and her husband, Julien Miller, of Oklahoma City, OK, Adrian Dater of Springfield, IL; his grandchildren, Thomas Dater, Madeline Leach, Ryan Leach; his sisters, Andrea Kenney of Keene, Jennifer Chillrud and her husband, Andrew, of Saratoga Springs, NY; a sister-in-law, Lydia Ruth and her husband, Richard, of Downingtown, PA; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services and burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Keene, will be held privately by the family.
