Martha J. Hammond 80, of River Road, Westmoreland, NH, and a former longtime resident of Keene, NH, died October 24, 2011 at the Lakes Regional General Hospital in Laconia, NH, following a period of failing health.
She was born in Keene, NH, July 24, 1931, the daughter of Harry F. and Margaret E. (O’Neil) Hammond. She was a 1949 graduate of Keene High School.
Miss Hammond worked for 34 years as a traffic operator with the New England Telephone Company, retiring in 1983.
She is survived by several cousins.
Funeral services and burial in the Woodland Cemetery, Keene, NH, will be private.
