Karen E. Linton

Karen was born August 2, 1962 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of William and Betty (Stearns) Anderson.

For the past two years, Karen had been working at Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Keene, NH. She was passionate about her work and delighted to bring compassion and kindness to those in her care.

Karen’s biggest joy was her family, especially being “Na” to her beloved granddaughter, Laken. She enjoyed spending time in her home; baking cookies, reading, and surrounding herself with the beauty of nature. Before moving to New Hampshire, she lived in Florida. Much of her time was spent boating and splashing in the water; the pool, the lake, the river, the ocean. She lived along the St. Mary’s River for a season and always relished an opportunity to stick her toes in the sand. One of her more memorable beach visits was an extended trip to Costa Rica.

Karen also enjoyed watching sports including the Florida Gators and the New England Patriots. Over time she even developed a love for NASCAR, specifically Denny Hamlin.

Karen is survived by her daughter: Kristin Linton, Gary Spencer, and her granddaughter, Laken Spencer of Sullivan, NH, her Mother: Betty Anderson-Knight of Jacksonville, FL, her sister: Janice Andrews and her husband Bobby Andrews of St. Augustine, FL, sisters-by-marriage: Cindy Patterson, Karen Helton, Andrea Duke and Christi LeBoff, and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is also survived by her first husband and friend: Gregory Linton and his wife: Stacy Linton of Keene, NH and the family of her late husband David Stovall: Taryn, Jeremy and Lyndsey. She is predeceased by her father: William Anderson, her sister: Tammy Dugger and her father-by-marriage: Fred Knight.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Fort Caroline Baptist Church, 11428 McCormick Rd, Jacksonville, FL on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 11 am. Family and friends are welcome to visit the family at the church from 10 am to 11 am. Those who attend the service are encouraged to wear something green, in honor of Karen’s favorite color.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Caroline Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL or to Keene Day Care Center, Keene, NH in memory of Karen Linton.
