She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 30, 1931, to William and Harriet (Wagner) Klinge. She attended area schools.
She married George A. Fuerderer, Jr. in the Sound Beach Community Church, Sound Beach, NY on October 31, 1959. They were married for 37 years before his passing in 1996. Together they had owned George’s Woodworking, in Rocky Point, NY for over 20 years, and frequently visited Swanzey before becoming year round residents in 1977.
She was a Charter Member of the Sound Beach Community Church since 1953; a Member of the First Congregational Church of Swanzey; a member of The Old Homestead Garden Club and Horticultural Chairman since 1978. She was also a member of Conservation Commission and the Swanzey Planning Board since 1987 and worked the polls for many years. She was the former Bell Choir Director and Vocal Choir Director of the First Congregational Church. In addition, June was a contributing writer to the Keene Sentinel and penned the column, “In The Garden”, since 1991.
She loved gardening, quilting, knitting, and other crafts. She also loved animals, including her dogs, cats, ducks and peacocks. She was a talented photographer and had won awards at the Cheshire Fair for her photography as well as her quilting and gardening.
She is survived by her nieces: Judy Stowell and her husband Glenn W. Stowell, III of Hadley, MA, Joan Fuerderer Segal of Patchogue, NY, Linda Fuerderer of Marlow and Jeanne Fuerderer of Ridge, NY; her nephews: Robert J. Fuerderer, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Surry, Eric Fuerderer of Ridge, NY and Carl Fuerderer of Sound Beach, NY; her brother in law: Robert J. Fuerderer Sr. and his wife Judith of Surry and her grandnephew and grandnieces: Glenn W. Stowell, IV of Boston, MA, Jessica Stowell of Hadley, MA and Jessica Fuerderer of Swanzey as well as many other grand and great grand nieces and nephews around the world.
She was predeceased by her husband: George A. Fuerderer, Jr., and a brother: Richard Klinge and his wife Jeanette Klinge.
Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at the First Congregational Church in Swanzey, 679 Old Homestead Hwy Swanzey, NH 03446. Burial will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 2:00 at the Mountain View Cemetery in Swanzey.
A Celebration of June’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church in Swanzey, 679 Old Homestead Hwy Swanzey, NH 03446.
