He was born on December 3, 1926, in Northfield, VT, the son of George John and Mary G. (Megalogenis) Bardis. He graduated from Keene High School and went on to graduate from New England College with a Business Major. He earned his Master’s in Education from Keene State College.
Mr. Bardis served in the US Navy as a Corpsman and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He married Marion Helen Luopa on August 28, 1955 in Keene.
Mr. Bardis was a teacher in both the Fall Mountain School District and also at the Keene Junior High School.
He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church for many years.
Mr. Bardis enjoyed sports, games, and puzzles. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the children.
He is survived by his sons George John Bardis of Sterling, MA and James John Bardis of Keene; his grandchildren Jesse James Bardis of Keene, NH, Emma Kaye Bardis and Megan Kaye Bardis, both of Sterling, MA; his siblings James Bardis of Keene, Evelyn Bacopulos of Keene, Marjorie Kanakis of Newport, Helen Brountas of Bangor, ME and Sonia Pelekis of Haworth, NJ. His wife Marion Helen Bardis died in 2005.
Services for Mr. Bardis will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014, 10:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 70 West St., Keene, NH. Burial will follow at the Monadnock View Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH.
