James W. A. Williams

He was born August 30, 1936, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, the son of Herbert Charles and Hilda Deborah (Woods) Williams. On November 29, 1975, he married the love of his life: Joyce Downs.

For more than thirty years he worked for Troy Mills.

He was a devoted husband and took on the responsibility of being a dad with the utmost vigor and desire to do anything and everything he could to provide for his family. He loved being “Gramps” and “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed going for walks and would bring the children along to help him with blueberry and raspberry picking: of which more berries were eaten than actually brought home. He also enjoyed watching sports on television, and though he didn’t always keep up with the Red Socks, he always followed the Bruins. He was most content when he was at home with his family, although when he and his wife first married they enjoyed going for trips to Maine to their family’s Camping area. In his younger years he was also an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife: Joyce Williams of Troy, his son: Daniel Foss of Troy, two daughters: Carol Schillinger and her husband Scott of Troy and Diane Bunker of St. Petersburg, FL, his son-in-law: Ronald Reed of Fitzwilliam, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is predeceased by two daughters: Laura Reed and Gloria Clark and her husband Wallace and three brothers: Buddy Williams, Herbert Williams and John “Jack” Williams, who was his twin brother.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015, at 3:30pm at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH. There will be no calling hours.
