Harold Junnie P. Morris Jr.

He was born in Swanzey, NH, October 30, 1928, the son of Bernice (Knapp) and Harold P. Morris, Sr. He grew up in Swanzey, attending local schools. He resided in Walpole, NH with his family for 54 years before moving to Sullivan to be near his daughter and family.

Mr. Morris served in the US Navy from 1948 until 1956 onboard the USS Leyete during the Korean War.

He worked for the Bryant Grinder Corporation in Springfield, VT as a machinist before retiring after 30 years of service.

Harold was a longtime member of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s’ Fellowship, attended church at St. Bernard Church in Keene, NH and St. Peter’s Church in North Walpole, NH.

He shared a great interest in restoring and showing antique Abenaque Engines with his son, Harold before his passing in 1991. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and spending time with family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After moving to Sullivan, he spent a great deal of time enjoying the donkeys, llamas, dogs and many other animals on his daughter’s farm, and spent many hours watching the humming birds in the garden.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ida M. (Bushway) Morris of Sullivan; his daughter, Crystal J. Rokes and her husband, Keith M. Rokes of Sullivan; two grandchildren, Emily S. Britt and her husband, Tomas and their children, Anna Lambert, Madeline Lambert, Gavin Britt and Gwenyth Britt, of Keene, Elysia M. Bingham and her fiancé, Kyle Woodbury and their children, Tristan Bleau, Sarah Bleau and Connor Woodbury of Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews. His son, Harold P. Morris, died in 1991. He was predeceased by a brother, Russell Morris and a sister, Elsie Chadwick.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:00AM in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Drewsville Road, Walpole, NH. Rev. Steven M. Lepine, Pastor of St. Peter's Church in North Walpole, will offer committal prayers. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, where Rev. A. Stephen Marcoux, III, Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will offer evening prayers.
