Dorothy M. Buffum

She was born in Gilsum, NH on August 23, 1923, the daughter of Peter and Rose (Lower) LaBounty.

Mrs. Buffum worked for over forty years with Douglas Toy Company of Keene.

She enjoyed going to yard sales, sewing, crocheting and playing scrabble. She was most proud of her role as Mom, Grammy and “G.G”. Her favorite pastime was that of the precious moments she spent with her family.

She is survived by her children, Donna Parkhurst of Swanzey, Sherry Lukasiewicz and her husband, Steve, of Webster, NY, Neal Buffum and his wife, Nancy, of North Swanzey, NH, Donald Buffum of West Swanzey, NH, Thomas Buffum and his wife, Heather, of Meredith, NH, Steven Buffum and his wife, Martha, of Nelson, NH; eleven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Russell of Keene, NH; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard R. Buffum, Sr., in 1989; a son, Richard R. Buffum, Jr.; five sisters and one brother.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:30AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Keene, will be private. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
