Carol L. Ives

She was born December 3, 1944 in St. Albans, VT the daughter of Ralph and Vivian (Gravel) Hurlburt. She was a 1962 graduate of Swanton High School in Swanton VT, and went on to earn certificates in both Nursing and Real Estate. For more than twenty years she worked for RH Thackston and Company.

Carol was a very compassionate and warm-hearted person who freely shared her nurturing spirit with everyone in her life. She was always willing to listen and offer advice when it was requested or to simply be the sounding board. She was slow to judge and always brought an upbeat outlook. Her compassion spread to the care that she took to the birds and squirrels who called her yard home and also to her “grandkitties”. In years past she enjoyed spending her free time working on projects like crocheting, crafts or working on ceramics. Above all she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them: taking trips to Wells, Maine was one of her favorite past-times.

She is survived by two daughters: Katrina Eastman and her husband William of Hubble, MI and Tara Ives of Swanzey, two granddaughters: Amanda Eastman-Makolin and Samantha Eastman, four great-grandchildren: William, Dominik, Landen, and Troy, sister: Shelley Bonnett and her husband Eugene of Georgia Pl., VT, her nephew: Travis Bonnett and his wife Gale and niece: Tracey Barrett and her husband Tim. She is also survived by her previous spouse and her dear friend, Ronald Ives of Marlborough, NH.

Per Carol’s wishes, no services will be held.
