She was born July 16, 1941 in Norwood, MA the daughter of Frederick A. and Blanche (Patterson) Sherwood. She went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Franklin Pierce University in Accounting.
She was a very hard-working person who was devoted to the care of her family. She worked for Kingsbury Corporation, Schleicher & Schuell and Somero Enterprises. Toward the end of her working career she worked for the family business: American Blind and Shade.
She believed in living life to the fullest. Her journey had been filled with many ups, downs and even some unchartered waters, yet she was determined to make the most of every situation. As a very young woman she married for the first time and began her family and as her family grew, she was touched in a new way. Memories were made and cherished and milestones were overcome. On February 14, 1980, she married her love, James N. Clark and over the next 37 years they spent time enjoying long motorcycle road trips, golfing and traveling together. She was proud of each of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for all of their various accomplishments and she loved to spend time with all of them.
As a member of her community, she felt that it was important to be a part of organizations and support those in need. For many years she was a member of the fraternal order of the Moose, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Winchester Fire Department and President of the PTA in the Winchester School District.
Although she was very busy with work and raising her family, she always found time to have fun. She especially enjoyed working in her garden, music, dancing and playing the guitar. One of her passions was traveling to Nova Scotia to visit her family and also her summer trips to York, Maine and Hampton Beach, NH.
She is survived by her husband: James N. Clark of Richmond, eight children: Steven Nicholson and wife Kathy, Sterling Nicholson and wife Debbie, Karen Nottage-Hoffman and husband Glen, Kevin Nottage, Tina Nicholson-Clark and husband Fran, Russell Nicholson and wife Melissa Nicholson, Shannon Clark-Amlaw and husband Matt and Andrew Clark. There are also fifteen grandchildren,
twelve great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Gail Leightonen and her husband Roger and several cousins and extended family members. She is predeceased by her grandson, Dennis James Nesbitt, Jr (DJ).
