Anthony Joseph Keane

His parents, Robert C. and Anna W. (Condon) Keane, welcomed their son, one of eleven children, into the world, on July 31, 1954 in Cambridge, MA. He was raised in Bellingham and worked for many years as an inspector in quality control with PLC Medical Systems in Milford, MA.

Anthony loved spending time outdoors in the woods and field near his home in Bellingham, teaching his girls about nature, tending to his gardens, reading mysteries, and watching Boston sports teams. He had a special love for animals, especially the dogs he adopted throughout his life and the many birds that populated his yard. His skilled hands and keen mind found Anthony refurbishing computers and laptops and venturing into the world of online sales before doing so was mainstream. In his younger years, he was a contest-winning darts player. He had many close friends who he enjoyed helping in any way possible, and will be remembered for his unwavering generosity and truly empathetic nature. Though he was often a man of few or subtle words, his kindness, intelligence, and sharp sense of humor were apparent to anyone who was lucky enough to encounter him.

His all-time favorite pastime was spending quality time with his large, close-knit family, particularly his two granddaughters and his great nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by many, including his daughter Rebecca Keane and her partner Scott Gannon of Waltham, MA; his daughter Alyson Keane of Troy, NH; his beloved granddaughters Stella Keane and Juliette Gannon; his siblings Robert Keane and his wife Carole of Gardner, MA, Patricia Hooley and her husband Jim of Effort, PA, Paula McKenna of Williamstown, MA and her husband Jim, Lawrence Keane and his husband Mark Dennis of Arlington, MA, Amy Solbo of New Bedford, MA, Dorothy Belmore of Fall River, MA, and Brendan Keane and his wife Wendy of Millis, MA; his brothers-in-law Mike Doran of Lexington, MA and Jim Lanzarotto of Franklin, MA; and his many nieces and nephews and their children. He was predeceased by his siblings Edward Keane, Eileen Doran, and Constance Keane Lanzaratto.

A celebration of Anthony’s life will be held in or around Bellingham at a date and time to be announced later in 2021.
