Mary Margaret Bleisch passed away on February 15, 2019 at the age of 95. She was born on Detroit, Michigan to her parents Marie and Alfred Martz. Mary attended St. Paul’s Catholic High School in Grosse Pointe before earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry from Mary Grove College. Mary worked in Research at Parke Davis Laboratories. She married the love of her life, Bernard Bleisch, on September 2, 1947 and they were married for 62 wonderful years. She was a member of Our Lady of Refuge Church from 1962 to the time of her passing. Mary took pride in her church and she was a volunteer Garden Keeper. She belonged to many clubs: Garden Club, Book Club, Tennis Club, Ski Club, Bowling Club, and Meals on Wheels Volunteer. She found joy in numerous hobbies; yoga, dancing, gardening, sewing, knitting, embroidering, needle point, baking, playing bridge, reading, and watching scary movies. She was a loyal friend, keeping in touch with her elementary school friends through the years.
Mary is survived by five of her beloved children Susan Phelps- Bleisch, Patricia Bleisch, William Mark Bleisch, Sally Woehler, and Anne Stein. Her grandchildren Eric, Mathew, Michael, and Katherine Phelps, Sarah Mahoney, Jerome Swaim, and Lennon Dylan, and Jopline Stein. Her great-grandchildren Sydney and Emelyn Phelps, Hannah Bienkowski, Gracelyn Bird, Sophia and Liam Wallace, and Theodore and Tessa Mahoney. Also, her sister Ann Mary Beike. She is predeceased by her parents, her daughter Mary Teresa Bleisch-Gazillo, her granddaughter Nora Woehler, and her brother Alfred Francis.
There will be a visitation held on Monday February 18th, 2019 from 2PM to 7Pm at Family Funeral Care located at 2904 Orchard Lake Rd, Keego Harbor, MI 48320. There will be a Rosary during the visitation at 7PM. On Tuesday February 19th, 2019 there will be a funeral mass at Our Lady of Refuge, 3700 Commerce Rd., Orchard Lake, MI at 10AM with instate at 9:30AM until time of service.
