Marian Irene Soditch, age 95, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 13, 1929. Marian attended Stark Elementary School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1947. In 1949, she married her beloved husband Milton Soditch, with whom she shared many wonderful years until his passing in 2006. Marian had a career with Michigan Bell Telephone, now known as AT&T, as a telephone operator and supervisor. She and Milton's greatest passion was service to their community via the Rotary Club. Milton was a member of the Redford Rotary Club, and Marian was a member of the supporting Rotary Ann’s. Together, they founded the West Bloomfield Rotary Club. Marian had a love for the outdoors and nature. She found joy in gardening and boating on Pine Lake and Whitmore Lake. Marian was also no stranger to firearms; she and Milton would compete in shooting competitions and, when not competing, would go hunting together. She was an active member of Our Lady of Refuge for 50 years, and for the last 5 years, she was a member of St. Mary Queen of Creation Parish. Marian was a devout Catholic and dedicated her life to volunteer service.
Marian is survived by her children Kathleen (Thomas) Lytle and Milton (Jill) Soditch Jr.; grandchildren Scott Smithey, Jessica Soditch, Sarah Soditch, and Samantha Soditch; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Milton and her siblings Jaqueline Folsom, William Lawson, and Patricia Davis.
A visitation for Marian will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a Rosary taking place at 7:00 PM, at Family Funeral Care, 2904 Orchard Lake Rd., Keego Harbor, Michigan 48320. The following day, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, Marian will lie in state from 9:30 to 10:00 AM, immediately followed by the funeral mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, 3750 Commerce Rd, West Bloomfield Township, Michigan 48324.
