Leonard Joseph Stempien, a resident of West Bloomfield for 57 years, died June 28, 2024. He was 90 years old. Leonard was born in Detroit, August 28, 1933 to Sophie and Bud Stempien.
Leonard was predeceased by his loving wife Lee Stempien and sister, Constance Deighan. He is survived by his children Paul (Jodi) Stempien and Steve (Jennifer) Stempien; grandchildren Gabrielle, Colin, and Kate.
Leonard graduated from St. Alphonsus School in Dearborn, was a member of Our Lady of Refuge Parish, and served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and received a National Defense Service Medal.
A funeral will be held on Thursday July 11, 2024 at 12:30 pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, located at 4200 Belford Rd in Holly Michigan.
